{"id":3678,"date":"2024-04-05T00:00:45","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T05:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blackaby.net\/members\/?p=3678"},"modified":"2024-03-28T09:25:38","modified_gmt":"2024-03-28T14:25:38","slug":"the-torn-veil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blackabyleadership.org\/app\/2024\/04\/05\/the-torn-veil\/","title":{"rendered":"The Torn Veil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The veil separated the Holy Place from the temple&#8217;s Most Holy Place, and it had done so for centuries.\u00a0 According to tradition, the veil&#8211;a handbreadth in thickness&#8211;was woven of seventy-two twisted plaits, each plait consisting of twenty-four threads.\u00a0 The veil was apparently sixty feet long and thirty feet wide.\u00a0 The fact that it was torn apart from the top down indicated that the tearing was an irrevocable act of God in heaven that gave people access to Him.<\/p>\n<p>This tearing reflected the rendering of Christ&#8217;s body on the cross.\u00a0 He had just breathed His last.\u00a0 Death by suffocation, death on the cross&#8211;it was finished.<\/p>\n<p>Yet it was also the beginning&#8211;the commencement of a new kind of intimate relationship between God and His people.\u00a0 Christ&#8217;s death on the cross removed every obstacle that has separated&#8211;and could ever separate&#8211;people from God.\u00a0 Our Most Holy God is now accessible to everyone through Jesus Christ.\u00a0 It is we ourselves who erect any barriers that exist between God and us.<\/p>\n<p>What barriers are you choosing to let stand?\u00a0 Jesus died to bring them down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jesus cried outwith a loud voice, and breathed His last.
