God created people to be righteous. But our heads are continually being filled with schemes and plots. Even as the wily serpent pervaded the minds of Adam and Eve with the possibility of becoming like God, so our thoughts regularly focus on doing, becoming, and experiencing that which God has forbidden.
We glorify God when we live as God designed us to. We honor Him when we are content with what God has given us. Yet inevitably we grow dissatisfied. We come to believe we ought to have more than God granted us. Rather than meditating on God’s word, we scheme to “get ahead” and enjoy “the good life.”
Some people become consumed with plotting how they can achieve what they desire. Rather than spending time with God and His word, they obsess with their own plans. What is occupying your thoughts?
