Every word of Scripture has been divinely provided to us for a reason. Some passages may seem more interesting or enjoyable to us than others, but each verse can profit us in some way. At times we can get in to a rut where we read from the same few books of the Bible over and over again while neglecting passages or books that might greatly benefit us.
While God’s word certainly will inspire and comfort us, its purpose is more extensive than that. It enables us to understand and to embrace proper doctrine. Our beliefs ought to be taken from the Bible, not from other’s opinions! It is also helpful for reproof and correction (especially our own!). It also provides a clear path to righteousness in life and relationships. If you heed every instruction, your life will indeed be holy.
When you continually adjust your beliefs, actions, and attitudes to fully align with Scripture, then your life will be complete and fully prepared for whatever assignment God has for you. The reason so many Christians today are not making a greater difference in the world for God is because they are ill-equipped.They may mean well, but they do not have the biblical preparation to be effective. Strive to implement all of Scripture into your life. Only then will you be prepared for God to use your life mightily.
